Jacob Round is an award-winning audio producer, sound designer, and radio broadcaster with nearly two decades of industry expertise spanning local and international radio networks. Beginning his career as a film composer, Jacob’s technical interest in audio led him further afield to become a content creator for networks including Southern Cross Austereo, Nova Entertainment, Triple J, ABC Classic, RN and ABC Sydney. Over the years, Jacob continued to diversify his skills across programming in podcasting, sound design, and audio post-production. His contributions have earned him accolades, including an ACRA, Promax and four Australian Podcast Awards. Building on his seven-year stint presenting ABC’s Live and Local, where he showcased Australian musical talent, Jacob now hosts a weekly national show, The Best of Storystream, curating and presenting the most compelling stories from the Storystream on ABC’s Listen app. These days, Jacob leverages his multifaceted skills in podcast production, contributing to shows such as Dan Ilic’s A Rational Fear, ABC’s Innies + Outies and Mamamia’s The Quicky. He also creates original content as a member of ABC’s news team while simultaneously managing his audio production business, providing freelance services to podcasters, radio networks, advertising agencies, and post-production houses.
